“I was born in 1971 and grew up on a farm in the Shropshire Hills. During my BA (hons) Fine Art at the University of Central England in Birmingham I specialised in printmaking and painting, frequently travelling back to Shropshire to paint directly from the landscape. Since 1994 I have lived near Pontesbury and devoted myself to raising my children. In 2015 I returned to painting seriously, holding an exhibition of work in Shrewsbury in 2016. I am particularly influenced by the work of Peter Prendergast, Kyffin Williams and Van Gogh, and this quote from Marc Chagall always encourages me;
“If I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing”.
In addition to my studio work, I continue to paint outdoors around Shropshire and the Welsh Borders,”
