My practice is focused on the act of looking at nature, for long periods of time and painting and drawing what I see onto paper and canvas. Trees have featured dominantly but they’re not always the subject. As with myself portraits, it’s the light that is the real subject. I’ve been trying to think about how I can mimic a sensation of looking. How can I get across how it feels to experience a sensation; a visceral and sensuous experience that doesn’t require language, except for the title that acts as the starting pistol for lateral thinking.
