After completing a BA Hons degree in Ceramics at Bath College of Art in the 1990s I went on to pursue a career in TV and Film as a prop and model-maker.
I now work from a barn in Shropshire as a contemporary artistic and architectural blacksmith. My current pieces combine the use of modern 3d printing technology with the age old process of sand-casting in Bronze,they are based upon Mayan knapped flint heads and axe heads on display in museums around the world. Forms that are ancient and once functional are now sculptural and modern. They are as much about the silhouette as the holes punched through.
Each piece is cast and then hand textured and patinated making each one unique, the idea is they convey a certain sense of mystery as to when they were made and what they might be made from..
