Mandy has been living and working a in North Wales as a Basketmaker for 35 years, using traditional skills to bring out the intrinsic beauty of her materials.
From her hillside studio in the Elwy Valley Mandy weaves baskets in her individual and distinctive style bringing together the varying colours of her home grown willow,
Plaited rushes, and laths of different woods.
Mandy teaches and exhibits in Galleries across Wales and further afield and sells both nationally and internationally

Weaving willow and Wood together feels to me like the perfect combination of natural materials. My partner has a saw mill and seeing the grain and colour of different woods as they are sliced lengthwise off the saw
gave me the idea to marry the different woods with varieties of willow that I grow.
The contrasting ” rhubarb and custard” of sawn , oiled yew lath combines beautifully with salix alba Britzensis, Chermesina and in this case ‘Flanders Red’
