“After studying ceramics at college, I taught primary school children for several years before taking the plunge into working full time with clay. I decided that hand building pots was the way forward for me. I enjoy the rhythm and peace that comes with building a large piece with coils. Over the years I have experimented with press moulds, carving and small sculptural pieces, gaining inspiration from archaeological museums, beaches and wildlife.I layer colour and glazes on to the finished raw pieces and fire several times to achieve the colours and effects I am looking for.”
