Rachel makes ceramics that reflect her passion for mid-century design, from 1960s studio pottery to 1970s mass-produced tableware, from textiles and painting to architecture and furniture. Throughout her travels overseas and in the UK she has collated ideas and inspiration to produce small batches of everyday domestic items that are contemporary, vernacular yet rooted in the past. Rachel throws on the wheel and uses a combination of cobalt oxide mono-prints and porcelain slip stencils to decorate each piece individually before applying decals in a third firing. Tactile handmade objects and an injection of colour enrich everyday life.
