Jim Bond is a sculptor specialising in dynamic kinetic structures and forms which express the fragility and futility of life. A fascination with human anatomy and the deconstruction of the body are also recurring themes in his work. Working from his studio in Yorkshire he has created significant commissions for the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Cambridge University and Lords Cricket Museum, London and his work is in private collections in the UK, Canada, The US, South Korea, Dubai and New Zealand.
In January this year He was guest artist at Lux Helsinki and from June to August artist in residence at The Institute of Imagination in London. His optical three dimensional portrait of the scientist Rosalind Franklin was commissioned for English Heritage’s National sculpture competition “Immortalised” and formed part of the exhibition in London in September.
