Artist
Gail Altschuler
I am inspired by jazz, improvisation, pattern, texture, colour and landscape.
My vessels combine graphic and printmaking techniques with ceramic methods.
‘Primitive and sophisticated at the same time’, I love to engage with the asymmetry that makes handmade ceramics so beautiful.
No two items are exactly alike. A mix of stoneware and porcelain clays and glazes, high fired in an electric kiln.
I enjoy working with clay, a material I feel passionate about.
I sell my work through galleries, art consultants and exhibitions and I teach art and clay to adults, teens and children. I am the editor of the London Potters newsletter.
