Tosca Lahiri

Twenty Twenty Gallery selected Tosca Lahiri from the Student Much Wenlock Open Exhibition at The Edge Arts Centre.
Tosca Lahiri's work, whether in painting or print making, is marked out by the use of vibrant colours, energy and a very instinctive imagination. The work is mainly semi-abstract, the subjects are still recognisable although the forms are highly stylised in a manner derived from abstract art. You will see much use of symbolism and texture.
Tosca is a mature student, having originally obtained a BA in English from The University of Wolverhampton, followed by Computer Science from The University of Birmingham (MSc) and then Fine Art (BA) again at Wolverhampton. It could be argued that it has been a circuitous route to a career in art. However, the combination of studying such a diverse range of subjects, together with the knowledge and skills developed from living, have contributed to the themes and style of painting and print making Tosca enjoys.Tosca’s attitude to creating art is “have no fear”.
