Kate Wood
Largely self-taught, Kate Wood's distinctive beaded jewellery is informed by the natural
world, tiny overlooked details, beautiful gemstones and a love of simple forms, aged finishes
and vintage glamour.
After graduating with a French degree Kate worked as a museum archivist before launching
her business in 2005. She started out selling her jewellery in London markets including
Spitalfields and Portobello, where she quickly attracted the attention of boutiques and
galleries.
Kate's jewellery is made up of hundreds of tiny beads, each attached to a hand-made silver
pin, and meticulously wrapped and ‘woven’ onto chains. The resulting pieces are delicate in
scale, with a mysterious, antique quality and simple organic form. Tactile and kinetic, they
are flattering and subtly glamorous.
