Heidi Hinder
Following a degree in Literature and a successful career in television
production, Heidi began a new direction of creative activity in 2005.
Jewellery and Silversmithing became her creative outlet and, after
winning a medal design competition with the Royal Society of Arts,
medals became a growing interest.
On graduating and establishing her new practice, medals were a focus
for experimentation, which led to Heidi being appointed as the BAMS
New Medallist for 2010-2011.
The literary enquiring mind she brings to bear on her medal studies
has resulted in a growing body of work, which intrigues and entices by
their materials and propositions.
She now exhibits regularly and is currently showing in The New
Medallists at the Victoria & Albert Museum and has work in several
collections; including Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, the
Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths,The British Museum and the V&A.
