Sir Peter Blake 'Godfather of Pop Art'
Born 25 June 1932 into a working class family on the southern-eastern fringes of London, Blake developed an early taste for many kinds of popular entertainments including cinema, the circus, wrestling matches, jazz and popular music. All of these passions found their way naturally into his art by the time he was in his early twenties as a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Art, between 1952 and 1956.
