Lois Hopwood

Lois Hopwood completed a degree in Fine Art at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and then went on to the National Film School where she studied Film Design. She worked on the film Charlotte Grey, two of the Harry Potter films and several shorts.

Lois lives in the Welsh borders with her husband Tony Hall, a potter and their twins at Castle Hill Pottery.  Her work is inspired by the landscape close to her home, particularly the area around the Beacon above Beguildy. She works in pencil, pen and ink and oils. She also decorates some of the pots that Tony throws, working with glazes and scraffito techniques.
