Keith Tyssen

Keith Tyssen is an established designer-silversmith. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art he has received many awards and his work may be viewed in several museums and increasingly forms part of private collections.

Keith continues to produce stirling silver pieces which are usually specially commissioned for universities, companies, religious bodies and local and national government. However, since his student days he has been attracted to working with pewter, a lead-free alloy based on tin which has integral qualities that lends itself to contemporary design and gives distinctive visual appeal.

The first pewterware double-wall bowl that Keith showed at a London show in 1990 won 'Best New Product'. This design and a later significant bowl have been purchased by the V&A Museum.

You can see Keith's beautifully designed pewter bowls and letter openers at Twenty Twenty in our Christmas Show.
